Swansboro High School students Erica Miller and Christian Davis returned to their former elementary school Monday to join a celebration for a project that began with an idea while they were still in fourth and fifth grade.

They were invited to participate in the ceremonial ribbon-cutting marking completion of the installation of a solar photovoltaic (PV) system on the Queens Creek Elementary School campus.

“We never got a chance to actually finish what we were doing so to come back and see how it affected the school is special,” Miller said.

Miller, Davis and another former student now at Swansboro High, Kasey Butler, who was not able to attend, were part of a team of 11 students who sparked the Queens Creek “green dream.”
